Not too long ago, we did a contest giving TWO LUCKY PEOPLE a copy of White Arms of Athenas' new album Astrodrama for the price of nothing. last night I chose who deserves this piece of action. And since I'm not a liar, they were mailed and are awaiting the opportunity to shine and be brought to the most bad-ass CD owner ever!

WHITE ARMS OF ATHENA Launch New Track From Debut
Dallas-based WHITE ARMS OF ATHENA, have debuted another track from their upcoming debut full length, "Astrodrama." Check out the track, "Ascend" now at Hails and Horns' website. The album will be released on August 16th, 2011 and was recorded by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, The Human Abstract). Pre-order for "Astrodrama" is available through PROSTHETIC's webstore, now, where there is a special discount code available.

The band's music expands on the already vast array of attributes that come with a progressive metal band. With sounds ranging from cluttered grind riffs paying tasteful respects to Between the Buried and Me, solid heavy riffs to bang your head to and peacefully structured ambient passages that soothe you just in time for another full-on attack of the senses, this band does it all with precision and originality. DECIBEL MAGAZINE commented, "These guys have the polished chops of lifelong shredders and a compositional sensibility that many older progressive metal musicians would gladly sell their ponytails to attain."
Their lyricism and overall vibe from the instruments give their tunes a certain futuristic, other-worldly touch that only heavy-hitters in progressive metal, such as Cynic, can pull off. This is a major sign of a band that knows their music inside and out, and makes the wait for "Astrodrama" seem worthwhile.
